Improving access to French-language health and social services in minority communities
The Consortium national de formation en santé (CNFS) includes sixteen colleges and universities as well as four regional partners from French communities in minority context. Together with the National Secretariat of the CNFS, their actions aim to improve access to social and health services for official language minority communities, in particular by increasing access to health training programs.
The CNFS initiative is supported by the Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC) and made possible through the financial contribution of Health Canada.
The CNFS is an exceptional strategic alliance whose activities are carried out as part of implementing Health Canada’s Official Language Health Program (OLHP).

The CNFS national secretariat
Working closely with postsecondary member institutions and the regional partners, the National Secretariat plays a development and coordination role in the planning and achieving the CNFS objectives. The national secretariat has put in place a performance measurement framework; a management tool used to assess progress in implementing projects and initiatives at the national level.
CNFS member institutions
CNFS postsecondary member institutions are colleges and universities from French minority communities. They are represented by coordinators who support the development of French-language health training in their respective institutions, according to their particular needs and environment.
CNFS regional partners
CNFS regional partners are active in Newfoundland and in the three Canadian territories where there are no French-language health programs offered. Their role is primarily to seek clinical placements opportunities in their communities and promote the CNFS French-language health programs.
