Our mandate and objectives
The CNFS strives to improve the French language health services of Francophone communities outside Quebec through the postsecondary training of Francophone health professionals and through complementary health research related to this training and these communities’ needs.
To realize its mandate and objectives, the CNFS has set the following objectives:
- To identify communities’ specific needs and encourage professionals trained in their province of origin to practise there;
- To maximize the existing institutions’ contributions through the deployment of their training capabilities;
- To strengthen identity building as a value added of CNFS programs;
- To promote access to new training programs in communities where a lack has been identified;
- To facilitate access to training delivered in French in the health field for the diverse components of Canadian society, factoring in the possible contributions of immigration and of the contingent of bilingual health professionals interested in practising in French;
- To promote partnerships and collaborative arrangements;
- To promote and maintain liaison and concerted action within the network as well as with complementary networks.
